My Expectations Essay

my expectations in life essay

Show More Firstly, I will be talking about the expectations my parents have towards me like school, personal matters, and in life. The first expectation that my parents want me to follow was school and good grades. My parents pushed their expectation of a proper education because my parents didn’t get the chances for a proper education growing up. They believed that we could do well in school. So, their expectation pushed me to get all A’s in; as a result, I put school and education before anything else. My dad had high hopes for me to go to a university, and I would become a successful person in life. On the other hand, my mom’s expectation of school for me was to graduate from high school because she didn’t want me to end up like her and not finish …show more content… My parents except for me to not have sex until I am married. Because they believed that it should be saved for the person who I truly love, who was going to spend my whole life with. Also, they didn’t not want me to repeat the same thing that happened to my mom. My mom became pregnant at sixteen years old; consequently, she had to drop out of high school to go to work to get money to take care of me. So their expectation on personal matters had made me promise in front of both my dad, mom and god that I would not have sex until I’m married. My parents’ last expectation was for me to be a kind and caring person to everyone. Their expectation of me helped me to care for others even when people are being terrible or going through a bad situation. It taught me to help people in many different ways; for example, I enjoy helping tutor a boy I know do homework and, babysit. I love teaching children the importance of life and to be kind to others. My parents’ expectations of me have helped me to become the person I am …show more content… The expectation of school and career from my grandma is to go to universities and colleges just like my other cousins, since she compares my education to my cousins. For instance, she tells me to be a successful student in school and have a great career like them. She always told me as a child until now that I had to become a doctor because doctors make a lot of money. However, I didn’t not want to be copying my cousins, so I decide I would make my own choices in my career; therefore, one day I will become a teacher. My grandma’s second expectation is about relationships with others. While growing up my grandma always told me I should marry a white person because she heard that they had a lot of money. Now she tells me to marry a Chinese person because of their looks. However, she would tell me that everyone is a bad person when they are actually not. As a result, I kept some of the things she said about relationships in my head, but I never let it cloud my happiness. The third expectation is about how I live my life. Whenever I would see my grandma or talk to her, she tells me that I have to take care of my future husband by taking care of everything such as cooking, cleaning. In addition, she says that I have to stay home and take care of my kids. My grandma’s expectations had made me realize that I don’t want to live up to what she expects from

Personal Expectations Essay

Recommended: Importance of education in ones life

“Stay focused, go after your dreams and keep moving towards your goals,” by LL Cool J. This quote could not be more true because in order to accomplish your goals you have to stay focused and really work hard to achieve them. There are a lot of goals I hope to not only accomplish in life, but in high school. As an incoming freshman, I am not sure what to expect in high school, but as long as I have goals and I work hard to achieve them, I am sure I will stay on the right path and have a successful high school career. Not only do I have expectations for myself, I also have expectations of my teachers and peers. If I stay focused on school and make my expectations true, I think my final grade point average will be either a low A or a high B. …show more content…

Some of them are academic and others are more into my personal life. The first few expectations are academically and they are as follows: make honor roll, don’t wait until the last minute to do homework, and focus more on school than other unimportant things. As I mentioned, I would like to make honor roll. I think this is duable because of my grades last year and how hard of a worker I am. I do believe that high school will be harder than middle school, but that doesn’t mean I can’t do just as well if not better in high school. In addition, another academic goal I mentioned was not putting off my work until the last minute. I have a very bad habit of starting assignments late at night the night before they are due, but this is something I would really like to change because I think I could get better grades if I just put more time and effort into them. Last, but not least I want to focus more on school. School hasn’t always been my number one priority and I think that is a problem that needs to be addressed. As I am going into highschool I hope to forget about the other irrelevant things such as boys, being judged, and the business of others. In the past, these things have definitely come before school which I realize now was a big mistake. Next we have personal expectations. I also have quite a few. If I listed them all, we would be here for days. Therefore I’m only going to list a few, but they are being

Entry Essay for National Honor Society Inuction

Growing up, my parents never expected perfection but expected that I try to accomplish my best. The effort I’ve put forth in learning has been reflected in my grades throughout my high school career. I’ve entered myself in vigorous course work such as AP Government and AP English to become well prepared for my college career, all while maintaining a 4.4 grade point average this year. Not only do I engage in AP classes, but up until this year I had no study halls. I wanted my day to be packed full of interesting classes that I would enjoy learning about. My grades and choice of classes prove the effort that I put forth in my learning. Working hard now can only pay off in the future. Learning now creates a well-rounded human being. Working to learn is why I am so dedicated to my studies now.

Expectancy Theory Essay

The development of a new CBE scale is justifiable based on the explanation of the relationship among antecedents, construct and consequences under an unique theoretical framework. In doing so, this study resulted in strong empirical evidence of the Expectancy Theory (ET) framework for explaining consumer brand engagement self-selected brands. The sequence of effort (cognitive, behavior and emotional), performance (consumer brand engagement) and outcomes (BRR & CBE-O) chain of effects was large and significant. The effort-performance (E-P) causal relation was operationalized by the effort based dimensions of CBE, namely Cognitive, Behavioral and Emotional. The performance-outcome (P-O) causal relation was operationalized by the consumer brand engagement concept, and instrumentality was operationalized as the Brand Related Rewards (BRR) to consumer brand engagement outcomes (CBE-O). It was demonstrated that the brand engagement dimensions predict expected Brand Related Rewards (BRR), which in turn predicts consumer brand engagement outcomes (CBE-O). As a result, hypothesis H3a and H3b were supported. Additionally, the measurements of these constructs are mostly invariant (or partially invariant), with adequate parameter stability.

Personal Essay: Three Strengths Of A Personal Responsibility

Personal responsibility is the idea that people have full control over their actions. Things like basic health and hygiene can be seen as personal responsibility because they are actions that are carried out independently. In my life, I don’t have to shoulder responsibilities all by myself because my sister helps me balance things out. Although I am still solely responsible for the outcome of my decisions, it is easier for me to act reasonable with help by my side. Personal responsibility to me is the act of taking care of yourself while owning up to any mistakes you made.

Personal Role Model Essay

As children, we look to our parents to teach us skills that we need in everyday life, whether it be social skills or how to. Yet for a variety of reasons, some children do not have this personal role model for them to follow and learn from. For these children, their teachers may be the first adult to give them any sort of attention or care. As a result, a teacher can play a huge impact in a young child’s life. The Allentown School District’s high schools are both considered Title I schools, meaning that over 40% of the school’s students come from families that are legally considered low-income (www2.ed.gov). Personal Statement Essay

I began to get fascinated by our capitalist world’s economy at a very early age of my life. Growing up, I was incredibly curious to unravel how systems function, and this curiosity developed into a burning desire to learn how processes and organizations operate and run our world. As I started my first job, I realized how much I needed to be better acquainted with the science of money making and the scientific approaches to money management. I then started to set goals like my sophomore year of high school after I did that it really helped me focus on my future and what I wanted for myself. My goals I think pushed me so much more academically they opened my eyes a little bit more. My senior year I started applying to college but my main goal was to make into Saint Mary-of-the Woods and when I received my acceptance letter I was ecstatic. So far, I am still trying to figure out my academic goals for college but, I do know for sure that I want to succeed in every single way that I can so I can make a better future for myself. A goal that I made this year is to make the dean’s list every single time, for this I will study so hard for every test, do all of my homework, and ask questions when I have them and maybe even getting a tutor. This challenge will probably be really tough but I believe that I can do it if I put my mind to it, and I tend to be a very determined

Individual Reality Essay

Because all individuals possess different sets of experiences and perspectives, their individual realities, or their interactions with and responses to their surroundings, differ accordingly. While the outside reality that exists independently from human interaction remains consistently unaffected by individuals’ perceptions, one’s individual reality can change and shift as a result of changes in perception that can be triggered by events, relationships, and interactions with others. Leslie Bell’s “Hard to Get: Twenty-Something Women and the Paradox of Sexual Freedom,” Oliver Sacks’s “The Mind’s Eye,” and Martha Stout’s “When I Woke Up Tuesday Morning, It Was Friday” collectively address this idea that the realization of individual realities
